These Snickerdoodle Cookies are soft, chewy, and coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for any occasion.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the dough into balls and then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a softer cookie, do not overbake.
- Feel free to add chopped nuts for extra flavor.
