Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the dough into balls and then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
