- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 8 hoagie rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef roast on all sides until browned.
- Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
- Add the seared beef roast on top of the onions and garlic.
- In a bowl, mix together beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaf. Pour over the roast.
- Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the beef is tender.
- Remove the beef, shred it with two forks, and return it to the pot to soak in the juices.
- Serve on hoagie rolls topped with provolone cheese.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary.
- Serve with a side of au jus for dipping.
