Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the vanilla, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, do not overbake.
  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes for even softer cookies.
