Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 jalapeños, diced
  • 6 hot dogs
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add milk and egg, mixing until smooth.
  3. Fold in cheddar cheese and jalapeños.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a pot.
  5. Insert hot dogs onto sticks, then dip them into the batter.
  6. Carefully place the battered hot dogs into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
