Ingredients

- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 jalapeños, diced
- 6 hot dogs
- oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add milk and egg, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in cheddar cheese and jalapeños.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a pot.
- Insert hot dogs onto sticks, then dip them into the batter.
- Carefully place the battered hot dogs into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.

- For extra spice, add more jalapeños.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
